Abstract :
The performance of Sensor Area Networks varies in terms of data reliability, resilience to node failure, data throughput and end-to-end communication latency. It is required to optimize the topology for a static communication Backbone. It is suggested that Centrality metrics that are taken from social networks such as Betweenness and Closeness may be used as criteria for optimization. Preliminary simulation results confirm that these concepts allow performance analysis for two generalised communication topologies.
