Abstract :
In a protective relaying system, there are some issues associated with the settings of directional overcurrent and distance relays and their coordinations. The authors present a way of applying an expert system to these issues. The proposed expert system has been developed on a personal computer by making use of OPS83 and applied to an example system to verify its effectiveness
