Abstract :
We consider a formal linearization that transforms a given nonlinear system into a linear system by means of the Chebyshev interpolation. The proposed linearization has high accuracy and easy implementation. Error bounds of this linearization show that the accuracy of the approximation is improved as the order of the Chebyshev polynomials increases. A nonlinear observer and a nonlinear filter are also synthesized as applications of the linearization. The high validity of this formal linearization is verified through numerical examples
