Abstract :
This paper studies the problem of output feedback fault-tolerant control design for continuous-time linear time-invariant systems. The considered control scheme is in the framework of sampled data control with high-order hold (HOH) instead of conventional zero-order hold (ZOH). It is shown that the equivalent control distribution matrix B2 in the discretized model with HOH will be ´enlarged´, which brings more flexibility for designing a output feedback fault tolerant controller. The design conditions are given in terms of solvability of a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Furthermore, the results are extended to H2 output feedback fault tolerant control designs in which the intersampling effects can be taken into consideration. A numerical example of a chemical reactor model and its simulation results are given to illustrate the effectiveness the proposed approach.
