Abstract :
Through the analysis on 120 rear-end vehicle impact accidents of Beijing in 2004, the basic characteristics of this kind of accident are obtained, including the actual rules of occurring time, vehicles types and speed, drivers´ ages and origins, road types and so on. The results show: car to heavy truck and truck to truck, the main two types, in most of which the front vehicles park or run at a lower speed, and rear vehicles drive tiredly at a high speed, should be investigated and prevented especially. The statistic results are analyzed, then the methods against drive tiredness and rear-end impact are presented by discussing the happening reasons of such accidents in the point of view of human-vehicle-road system.
