Abstract :
Medium-to-large businesses tend to be polarised in their views towards telecommunications: those with limited vision regard the provision of telecommunications as a necessary evil, the costs of which must be managed downwards as part of a disciplined approach to overheads; while those who have not been put off by the technology or the jargon recognise telecommunications as one of the great enablers of our times, and seek actively to bend the offerings of the telecommunications suppliers to the benefit of their own bottom line. The author discusses this latter business user´s view. The author sets the view within the framework of UK regulation and competition, and also the European aspect
