Abstract :
Tactical US army multichannel communication systems have predominantly employed GRC-226 (MSE) and GRC-103 (ATACS, TRI TAC, Air Defense etc.) radios for transmission. Heretofore, enhancements that provided either electronic counter-countermeasures (ECCM) capability, increased range or continuous channel quality monitoring have met with limited operational success. Cincinnati Electronics Corp. and its parent company, the Canadian Marconi Company, have developed a forward error correction coder that provides these three capabilities simultaneously in a small, lightweight package
