Abstract
A variety of software and hardware signal simulation tools is currently available for communications link analysis. Many of these tools, however, serve special purposes and are applicable only to a narrow range of problems. Other tools have poor operator interfaces or require in-depth theoretical understanding to properly use. The unique requirements for spread-spectrum signal simulation require special functions and impose constraints that applicable tools must be able to accommodate. The authors evaluate and select a complementary set of commercially available hardware and software tools to function coherently as a general purpose spread-spectrum simulation system. This system is described and an analysis scenario is presented
