Abstract
Presents a set of computer simulations using an adaptive array fading channel model for the mobile communications scenario with cochannel interference, wherein the LMS, RLS, and sample matrix inversion (SMI) adaptive array algorithms are compared. The main contributions of the paper are as follows: modelling of the Rayleigh fading channel model for the m-element array antenna where the field pattern is considered in both the spatially correlated and un-correlated instances, and simulation and verification of the LMS, RLS, and SMI adaptive array algorithms. BPSK modulation is employed in the simulations. The advantages offered by the adaptive array approach include cancellation of the interference patterns; consequently, the efficiency of the communications network is improved
