Abstract
This paper revisits some distributed update laws for power control in ad-hoc wireless networks that have previously been proposed in the literature. After having recast these update laws in a framework of so-called certainty equivalence and proportional-integral (PI) control, it is shown that there are problems with stability and feasibility in one of these power update laws. We then discuss the stability and universality of the PI-based update law, and propose a new modified PI-based update law. We show that this modified update law has better universality properties than the original PI-based update law.
