Abstract :
In this paper, the visual servo based measurement method for vehicle geometric parameters is studied. Sobel operator is applied to get the edge enhanced image. The characteristic points, such as wheel center and rim point , are detected with the application of Hough transformation. A servomechanism is carried out, which is driven by the deviation between feature point and the camera optical axis. The vehicle dimensions are calculated through the displacement of the servounit. The experimental prototype is developed to verify the method.
