Abstract
Proposes a novel printed antenna that is capable of yielding circular polarisation. The antenna consists of a planar slow-wave structure, which has waveguiding properties similar to those of a circular helix. The slow-wave structure can be fabricated using printed circuit techniques. For a suitable mode and optimum dimensions, analysis indicates two symmetric circularly polarised beams at 32° with respect to the endfire direction. The analytical results are presented together with preliminary experimental results
