Abstract
An inexpensive telemetry data buoy system has been developed. The telemetry link is made via an HF ground wave. Ten channels of data are collected from each of seven buoys and transmitted with 8-bit accuracy and quadruple redundancy once every 15 minutes in a frequency-shift-keyed format. The data are received and recorded on cassettes with a commercial grade recorder. Manual servicing of the recording system is required only once a day.
