Abstract
The authors study the performance of an LMS based adaptive array. First they consider the performance of this array for a sudden interference encountered during adaptation and demonstrate that the speed of the convergence of this adaptive system is dependent on the eigenvalue spread of the autocorrelation matrix of the input data to the array elements. The transform domain LMS algorithm was developed by S.S. Narayan et al. (1983). The speed of the convergence of the LMS algorithm can be significantly improved by choosing appropriate transform
