  • Abstract
An analytical method has been developed to determine the radar cross section of a buried cylindrical perfect electric conducting object in a dielectric hall-space. In this analysis, the buried conducting object is illuminated by a linearly polarized plane wave parallel to the object axis. The analysis focuses on a different calculation procedure in which the scattered field is expressed as the integration of the plane waves by using a spectral representation of the cylindrical source in the half-space. This scattered field is refracted to the observer half-space and so the far scattered pattern or radar cross section is calculated by using an asymptotic expression of the plane wave integral form.
