Abstract :
An extensive study of rainfall records from a large number of meteorological stations located in every region of Iberia is being carried out in order to elaborate a rain intensity map based on local data. A statistical analysis was performed on data from several sites in Andalusia which showed that rainfall rates behaviour is strongly related to orographic and climatological features. The authors discuss the application of the CCIR worst month model and of the exponential CCIR model for the monthly fraction of excess. The results achieved show a high correlation to climatological characteristics
