A basic module for active antenna applications

A new four-port patch antenna module is presented and some practical self-oscillating solutions are demonstrated low cost, weight and power consumption performance joined with good radiating features. Various configurations are illustrated, based on a proper termination of the four electrical ports. The insertion as a resonant element both in the reflection oscillator, and in the phase-shift oscillator results in simple modules for transponder and array applications
