Abstract :
The paper deals with some procedures for attaining controlled modifications of the incident field that result in beam direction, filtered and focused radiation patterns. Planar single and multilayer spatially varying array designs have been incited to produce the required combination of amplitude and phase changes. A number of prototypes (of up to four layers) have been manufactured and experimentally assessed in the 26-40 GHz frequency region. The bandwidth and polarisation performance are also discussed
