Monitoring of voltage quality on distribution networks by means of portable instruments

In the frame of activities carried out by ENEL to improve the knowledge of the quality of supply in distribution networks, particular emphasis has been given to the acquisition of data on the characteristics of the voltage. To avoid the difficulties that normally arise when field measurements are carried out using different equipment and/or data processing criteria, it was decided to develop a standard recording instrument suitable for a widespread use by field agents. The authors describe the main construction characteristics of the instrument, the data processing procedures which have been implemented and the results obtained in some surveys which have been carried out
