Abstract :
We demonstrate real-time homodyne demodulation of a 40-Gb/s BPSK signal by using novel digital optical phase-locked loop with a Costas-loop structure. The optical carrier is locally recovered in the receiver side with a slow-speed digital signal processor employing bandwidth-enhanced samplers.
