Studies of perturbations: their causes and effects on MT networks

The authors present a broad outline of the research project that Iberdrola (a Spanish electrical utility) in collaboration with the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain) has unfolded since 1990. It is analysing in addition to the power supply quality of the Spanish network, the relation between possible causes and effects over the customers. Provided that the study will include transient disturbance below 10 ms, not usually considered in power quality statistical fieldwork, testing and selecting the adequate disturbance recorder is one of the important stages. Moreover, the supplied power quality and the end-use devices requirements must be compatible, so this paper shows partial results obtained by sampling different market sectors
