Abstract
This paper investigates the stabilization problem of Network Control Systems with limited data rates. A new method, which reduces data packet dropout rate and signal transmission delay, is proposed, based on modern communication theory. A condition for data rate over communication channels is derived, in which there are the upper and lower bounds of data rates at which there exists a coding and control law such that delay time and data packet dropout rate are bounded and small enough to stabilize control systems. The proof techniques are mainly based on Information Theory.
