Abstract :
Power Electronics Research Center (PERC) proposes a novel circuit parameter design concept called "Power Converter Design Platform" for realizing high output power density (OPD) converters. The platform concept enables the exact power loss design by taking the effect of correlations among converter parameters into consideration under high speed switching operation. An experimental apparatus is fabricated based on the platform concept. Details of the power loss design methods for semiconductor power devices and passive filters are presented. The validity of proposed methods is confirmed. The platform concept for the circuit parameter design enables the optimal circuit parameter extraction under real circuit conditions.
