Abstract :
An approach to software development for calculating the performance of industrial low-voltage squirrel cage induction motors is presented. It represents an attempt to provide, performance verification facilities to nontechnical users by combining a knowledge base with a conventional calculation routine. Performance can be verified with the minimum of data input, and only a superficial understanding of machine theory is required. While the program has been in use, It has been shown to have correctly anticipated many of the dimensions and characteristics of a large variety of motor designs.<>
