  • Abstract
    The authors outline their approach to the design and manufacture of meter test systems. The Company has the capability to design and manufacture the hardware; and write the software for all aspects of meter test systems. The approach is flexible in terms of the users entry level and system components required. The authors comment in detail on some of the problems associated with the design and implementation of new phantom load systems (PLS) as this is the area of greatest change at the moment. Detailed specifications are given for power generation to clarify the problem. The techniques used for computer control of the PLS and the generation of a multiphase sinusoidal system are described. The approach to efficient power generation is also covered. Comments are made on the data collection and archiving
