  • Abstract
    The Ferraris electricity metering technology has proved to be long lasting reliable and cost effective for most applications. In complex industrial metering where multi tariff facilities are required the Ferraris technology is less flexible and more costly. A fully programmable multifunction meter (designated PPM) is described which fully satisfies all measurement criteria and provides for programmable tariffs. The interface with remote communications facilities and the rest of the integrated meter system has been described. With such a system, load profile data may be obtained enabling users to optimise demand and choice of tariff
