Abstract
On the Swedish electricity market, Vattenfall AB is responsible for about 50% for the electrical energy generated, and the remaining 50% are supplied by private and municipal utilities. Around 300 municipally (62%), privately (27%) and state (11%) owned utilities are responsible for the task of power distribution. Due to price increases and taxation, the price of electricity has increased in recent years from a low level to an appreciably higher level. The authors argue that because of the higher price of electricity, it is economically advantageous to use technical communication with customers, in order to restrict the energy and power demand both of customers and of distribution and generation utilities. Moreover, deregulation on the Swedish electricity market will increase the value of technical communication with customers
