Abstract :
The binary offset carrier (BOC) proposed for modernized GPS and the European Galileo system will enhance navigation performance and spectrum compatibility. However, the acquisition process is made more complex, due to the ambiguities in the autocorrelation function (ACF). This paper analyzes the performance of two methods allowing to acquire a BOC signal unambiguously: the BPSK-like technique and the subcarrier phase cancellation (SCPC) technique. In order to measure the acquisition performance, statistical analysis model of these methods using the non-coherent combining scheme is developed. Monte Carlo simulations have been carried out and validate theoretical analysis.
