Abstract
The GHAC method for load modelling at distribution level has been developed to obtain, separately, the curves of active and reactive demanded power on MV/LV and HV/MV substations. The authors have tested its applicability to obtain models able to add sorts of loads and customer, using data coming from utilities. Among the outer variables considered are human behaviour and climatic variations. The use of the activity hourly groups have allowed reproduction of the evolution of the load without the necessity of individual device modelling. The modelling method is absolutely applicable to a wide range of geographic and climatic situations and it has been probed with real data recorded during three years at MV/LV and HV/MV substations in Iberdrola, a Spanish public utility
