Abstract :
A description is presented of a vector control system of an induction machine using a neutral point clamped voltage source inverter (NPC-VSI) that is one of double series connected inverters. This system is characterized by the NPC-VSI and a sophisticated current controller based on the space vector theory. The current controller proposed in is capable of reducing harmonic currents to 1/4 of those of a conventional voltage source PWM inverter using six switching devices. Moreover, it can regulate the neutral point potential within a preset range.<>
