Abstract
To study the influence of an island on coastal radar in the presence of a rough sea surface, we use the reflection coefficient, which is suitable for rough sea surface and agrees well with the experimental data, and then substitute it into the diffraction loss formula for a knife-edge. The results show that reflection from rough sea surface is an important factor in calculating diffraction loss over the island
