Abstract :
The finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method has been applied to nonlinear electromagnetic problems such as nonlinear soliton propagation. In this paper, we present our recent progress in nonlinear FD-TD modelling, namely, the development of a nonlinear Perfectly Matched Layer (nPML) scheme for absorption of nonlinear electromagnetic waves and FD-TD modelling of nonlinear bistability. In our numerical experiments, the nPML absorption is found to be better than -50 dB and the simulated nonlinear bistability are observed to be in good agreement with the measurements
