Abstract
Node self-localization in Wireless sensor Networks (WSN) is a key technology due to its relationship with goal-observing and network-rebuilding. We propose a scheme to perform localization, which based on Received Signal Strength Indicator. In order to improve localization accuracy, we analyze the model of radio propagation environments channels in complex outdoor environment and propose a weighted centroid localization algorithm. It achieves lower computational and hardware cost and fewer communication consumption. The result of emulating shows it has higher accuracy than maximum likelihood estimation and can be applied to self-localization of WSN nodes.
