Abstract
The spreadsheet solution of the finite difference method has been extended. The difference equation has been modified to accommodate the case of irregular curved boundaries. Three different approximations are presented to cover the interpolation of degrees zero, one, and two. The spreadsheet solution has also been extended to solve the problem of unbounded space. Two methods are proposed to truncate the region. The use of the spreadsheet to calculate the electric field is introduced. Spreadsheet formulae to calculate the electric field components, magnitude, and direction are presented.<>
