Abstract :
The PAn/I--based potentiometric membrane was prepared by carrying out galvanostatic electrochemical radical polymerization using the following optimized conditions: 1:1 mole ratio of aniline monomer and potassium iodide, 0.10 M potassium hydrogen phthalate buffer solution at pH 4, 30-minute TP without stirring, Pt wire support and 9.34 mA cm-2 current density. The sensor showed a hyper-Nernstian response of 87. 5 mV/-log aI-. The response for I- was linear (r = 0.9994) at a concentration range of 10-4 to 10-2 with an average tr = 2.3 minutes. Its membrane has been likewise investigated via SEM with EDX that showed its semi-fibrous morphological structure, and XPS which depicted the possible anion exchange mechanism at its surface.
