Abstract :
In the condition of abiding by energy conservation law, this paper discussed how to carry out data fusion on QuickBird digital number images using normalized ratio method. The study began with the standardized transformation of QuickBird radiance image, then the data fusion was carried out with the dimensionless image by ratio method, thus radiance image of band 1 to 4 with a resolution of 0.61 m were obtained by using the mean value matching method between the dimensionless images of band 1 to 4 and the low resolution images of band 1 to 4. Finally, we adopted two evaluation methods, including visual effect evaluation and quantitative evaluation, for the image generated by data fusion. The evaluation results of visual effect indicate that the image definition could be improved by this method, and the results images´ hue is closed to natural color of landmark. The quantitative evaluation results show that it not only preserves spectrum information of original multi-spectral images completely, but also enhances details of result images. So it may be meaningful in practical application to a certain extent for its simple calculation process and high treatment efficiency.
