  • Abstract
    Raised chest is main body feature of female, and the rational design of chest makes a direct impact on garment aesthetics and fitness. In pattern design, the difference of chest chiefly displays in the front and back waist length. Based on 3D point-cloud data, this paper probes the relationship of the front and back waist length and human body style, and its determining method. Read and optimize the point-cloud data by image ware software, and get body feature points. Then obtain the studies, front and back waist length and chest thickness, and the angles of shoulder, chest, side and hip. Carry out data processing and analysis by SPSS to find out the angles closely related with the front and back waist length. Determine the classification of bodies, and set the coefficients to establish the regression equations of each category. Finally, verify the above-mentioned method through other studies to illustrate its rationality and precision. This study completes part of the work for the conversion from 3D garment pattern to 2D, while provides the basis for automatically pattern generation.
