Abstract
The problem of discrete-time detection of a weak signal in an impulsive noise environment is considered. It is assumed that the noise can be described as having a nominal correlated Gaussian component with an impulsive component superimposed on it. Detectors that robustly whiten the incoming signal and use threshold tests to determine the presence of impulses are presented
