Abstract :
We present a monolithic silicon polarization-division multiplexed (PDM) differential quadrature phase-shift keying (DQPSK) receiver front-end. It contains an endless polarization controller, two Mach-Zehnder delay interferometers, two hybrids, and eight photodetectors. We demonstrate 43-Gb/s PDM-DQPSK reception and automatic endless polarization tracking.
