Abstract
It is always primary object to improve gauge control accuracy in hot strip mills. Limitation based on conventional PID emerged when the controlled object is complex, nonlinear and time-variant. MN-AGC based on single neuron PID controller is introduced for improving automatic gauge control accuracy and quality in continuous hot rolling. The controller is applied in hydraulic AGC of 1700ASP. The practical application results have shown the effectiveness of this algorithm and control performance gets much better.
