  • Abstract
Shot boundary detection plays an important role in video processing applications. According to the subjective of human visual system and variable structure of video content, a boundary detection algorithm based on fuzzy subset-hood theory is proposed in this paper. The fuzzy subset-hood approach contains two processing mode, where one is dedicated to detection of abrupt and fade transition and the other use edge complexity for detection of dissolve transition. Comparison to the usually used boundary detection methods is carried out and the test results illustrate the proposed algorithm is effective in detecting shot transition in terms of the precision and recall rates.
