  • Abstract
Polychlorinated biphenyl is a kind of persistent organic pollutants. This experiment screened a halophilic bacterium which could grow at the salinity of 15%, and designated as B2.6. Strain B2.6 could use PCBs as sole carbon and energy source for growth. The optimal conditions of PCBs-degrading were obtained via alteration of pH, inoculation amount and the concentration. The experiment indicated at 30°C when pH is 7 to 8, inoculation amount is 5 mL, the concentration of PCBs is below 3 mg/L, and the ratio of degradation could reach 90%.
