Abstract :
The home telemonitoring system reported can be classified into two categories: daily activity monitoring for elderly and the vital sign monitoring for patients at home. Later class can also applied to a wide user group including healthy people. For different user group and different application environment, the home care need will be In different levels as well as require different features. The purpose of the authors´ work is to analyze the basic function modules for home telemonitoring and establish a framework, which could fulfill the needs of various applications. A home telemonitoring system consists three parts: a home monitoring unit, a hospital monitoring center and the communication network which connects the home units and the hospital center. The home unit maybe divided into seven modules: monitor information detection, AID converter, data storage, display, data analysis, communication, and control modules. The hospital center consists a communication device and a computer, which can provide the functions of display, storage, analysis, and control of the user information. For different applications or different user groups, those modules may make use of different technologies. At the same time, a hospital center may have to take care of different user groups. To fit the needs, a home telemonitoring framework is proposed and established in this work based on the integration of functional modules for both home unit and hospital center. The functions and the design considerations of such modules are presented in this paper and the preliminary testing results are given
