  • Abstract
    We show by simulation that PM-QPSK signal components, after propagating in uncompensated fiber links, assume Gaussian distribution, both in linear and non-linear regime, even in absence of ASE noise. After DSP equalization, the statistics of decision variables is also Gaussian.
