Abstract
A deterministic averaging method is used to study an adaptive time delay estimation algorithm. In practice, some signals needed in the ideal form of the algorithm are not available. The authors discuss different ways of approximating these signals and evaluate the performance of the corresponding algorithm via averaging analysis. Results of theoretical analysis and computer simulation are presented
