Abstract
A period of photonic crystal operating at 10 μm wavelength region is developed with micro-machining technique utilizing wafer fusion and laser beam diffraction pattern observation technique. A considerable attenuation (more than 10 dB) of the transmitted light is successfully achieved with the photonic crystal in the band gap wavelength region
