  • Abstract
The authors consider the problems which occur when implementing the stabilized fast transversal filter algorithm (SFTF), on a limited precision (16-bit) fixed point digital signal processor (DSP). It is shown that the crucial problem is the choice of initial values of the tracking parameters, which must be different from the optimal ones, in order to prevent divergence. The implementation of SFTF is illustrated with the TMS320C25 DSP
