Abstract
A new approach of invariant zero assignment by squaring down of system outputs is proposed. The squaring down matrix partition on two parts is used to implement the approach. One part is chosen from a some left invariant zero assignment condition in a system having unequal numbers of inputs and outputs, the other part is chosen from the some arbitrary invariant zero assignment condition in the squared down system. It is shown that this problem amounts to investigating and solving a set of linear algebraic equations
