  • Abstract
    The microstrip sensors for studying dielectric properties of liquid crystals (LQ) in SHF range are developed. The behavior of the SHF permittivity of a nematic liquid crystal 5CB in external electrical and magnetic fields is studied. The minimum of dielectric losses in LQ is found to be when the orientation of long axes of molecules are parallel to the direction of SHF electrical field. The permittivity dispersion for the liquid crystal 5CB in solid, nematic and isotropic phases is investigated. The dielectric spectra revealed the resonant features concerned with the conformational molecular vibrations
