Abstract :
This paper represents a novel reference compensation current estimation method for control of shunt active power filter (APF). The method allows the reference compensation currents are determined in the a-b-c reference frame and there is no reference frame transformation requirement, so the proposed system becomes very simple. The current control is done in time domain. The compensating current flows into the power feeder in order to suppress the harmonic currents generated by nonlinear loads. A three-phase active power filter is simulated with Matlab/Simulink to demonstrate the performance of the proposed method. The results verify that this method can compensate the harmonic current correctly and validly.
